I had to get the open end grips because trying to cut the current ones was a nightmare. I will continue to buy from these guys. Overall this kit is fairly easy to install. Even though they are plastic they do hold up . No issues with them .
FYI…if you’re looking for a wrap-around handguard kit without replacing the OEM hand guards, this kit is a cost-effective solution! And it fits on the ‘22 KTM 690 Enduro R! As all y’all, soon as I got my bike I planned on making aftermarket mods. And replacing the hand guards was on the list. But as Y’all know, the cost of “mods” can add up quickly! I found these on the KTM Twins website and thought “sweet, maybe I don’t need to buy a full kit and save some $$”. But then I checked the fitment list and the 690 Enduro R was not listed. That said, I was sure they would fit but reached out to support to confirm. And yes, they confirmed, “NO, these will not fit the KTM Enduro R”. But, I decided to order anyway and see for myself. They fit perfectly with a minor mod. I had to bore out the throttle tube about 1/16” for the bar-end to fully seat. Other than that, you need to drill a hole in the hand guard to attach to the bracket. The OEM hand guards already have pre-drill marks on back so that was a bonus. Super easy install! It’s winter now so I haven’t put them to the test yet. Yes they are plastic, but the kit mounts solid to the bike without any flex and should do what that are intend for. The “true test” will be if I take a hard spill or dump the bike, which I hope doesn’t happen. Since I can’t attest to the durability yet I’m only giving 4 stars. I did have to replace the grips with the KTM 2K Grip Set - Open End (P/N 63002021200. So don’t forget to order those too.
They work well for light duty trails and dual sport. Hard hits are possible but Heavy racing or wrecking is not recommended. Tighten periodically.
