As he noted, you have to install the adapter first before tightening the 2 grub screws at 10Nm on the sides… this appears to be a poor design at the center hole of the adapter. Also, that center grub screw is too short so the steering damper pin so it sits well below steering damper arm height. Therefore, you will need to wedge something inside so pin doesn’t fall to bottom and will sit higher up or do what i did (photos) since I didn’t have anything to fill the adapter center hole. I took a washer designed for outdoor faucet valve and drilled a hole just enough to squeeze the pin thru with force where it sits flushed against the damper arm. Aside from the above issue, when comparing the dampening at max level vs my friend’s scotts damper on same bike (2018 690 Enduro R), the Scotts is much stiffer than the WP damper (same design at KTM’s damper).
