Virtually eliminate missed shifts and false neutrals all while giving you a bike that's a much more positive animal when going through the gears. We're have a great fondness for the guys over at Factory Pro. They know what they're doing and when new shift kits or ECU mapping becomes available we're on the horn getting details. Factory Pro's KTM 690 Shift Kit (also fits the Husky 701 Enduro) should be on your list of to dos in the near future. We've heard complaints regarding the shifting action of the 690, not many but those who beat that bike down have reported some issues. This is their fix and it might be yours. There's two versions available. One with Stainless Steel Ball Bearing and one with a Ceramic Ball Bearing. Those who are curious, Ceramic Ball Bearings stay cooler and resist deterioration due to corrosion better than Stainless Steel. Changing the Oil can make, maybe a 10% difference, but Factory Pro's Shift Kit makes more like a 90% difference.

KTM 690 Shift Kit
Pricey little item but I was impressed with KTM Twins. Good communication and the kit was delivered very quickly.
Wow can shift with confidence!!
Great service just really expensive postage for such a small item so don’t think I’ll be using them again
A small improvement
I installed this on a 690 Duke that is being used as a road race bike. It has consistently had a problem with the shift from 5th to 6th, and occasional problems shifting from 3rd to 4th. The Factory Pro piece did make a noticeable improvement in the shifter action: It did become smoother and the mist shifts diminished slightly, but It did not completely solve the problem.
Factory Pro shift lock arm
I only have about 2 hours on my 12' 690 Enduro R since the arm installation but its probably enough to comment on performance of the arm excluding a durability rating. I bought it to help solve the common 5 gear false neutral and improve overall shifting quality shifting. I can say it has made a huge difference there, I had no false neutrals during the ride. It provides a smoother shifting action both up and down with a more precision feel. C bost is a bummer and it seems overpriced to me. If it didn't work as hoped I would have returned it. I'm keeping it. My Specific Ratings 1-5.. Quality = 4.5 Effectiveness/Performance =5 Cost=1 Ease of installation=3 Installation was easy laying the bike on its side, then removing the foot peg support and brake pedal out of the way. The 690 foot peg mount bolts through the swingarm with a bolt on each side so no pivot shaft to remove not a big job, the swingarm stays in place. Next Iremoved the clutch cover taking note of the bolt length in its location. I'd recommend buying a new cover gasket ahead of time. The shift arm has a 8mm bolt holding it on, remove that then the arm and spring with bushing. Transfer the bushing to the new arm and spring then assemble the new arm in place using Loctite 243 on the bolt threads, lineup the shift detent with the bearing end and the bolt with the shaft and arm and torque it down. Take your time here. Install a new gasket and bolts in the clutch cover and the peg and brake lever. Go Ride!
